The Boring Things

I’ve been wanting/needing to work on some more collages lately, but first I have to do the boring stuff - like sorting through the piles of materials, cutting out what I think I can use, organizing it into folders with similar images, cutting up all the text and sorting the words into part of speech so I can easily find what I want in the future, etc.

I’d been putting this off for a long time - friends and clients have donated a lot of books and magazines to me, plus I’ve picked up some over the years at thrift stores and pulled some things from my home library, so the amount of source material to sort through had gotten out of hand. When I felt the urge to work, I decided to buckle down and tackle a bit every day until I get through it all before letting myself get into more creation.

So far I’ve filled 2 large paper bags full of materials to recycle and my Noun and Verb boxes are full.

It’s dull, causes some aches and pains, and I’m constantly forgetting what is or isn’t an adverb - I should just assume that if I don’t know what part of speech a word is, then it’s probably an adverb, haha!
